"This Is Our Enemy" Broadcast
The weekly radio series of the Mutual Broadcasting Network celebrates its 1 year anniversary on the air in 1943. This episode features dramatizations of civilian disobedience in the Nazi-occupied countries and evinces the cornball, melodramatic tone inherent in both the series and the times. Chock full of camp stereotypes of a kind that would both alienate the unforwarned modern listener and delight the refined tastes of the officianado of the truly bad. Nevertheless, it also provides much valuable information and very inspiring accounts of the courage, wit and resistance of the common man in the occupied countries, and is highly entertaining both in format and content. A must-hear.
